HILLSMERE GARDEN CLUB On March 17th, we will have a very timely presentation on how to successfully prune by Professor Emeritus Dr. Francis Gouin, former head of the Department of Horticulture at University of Maryland. He also writes for the Bay Weekly as “The Bay Gardener”. I’m sure his information will be very helpful for the homeowner/gardener. We will have refreshments at 12:30 pm, a business meeting at 1:00 and the program at 1:30. Please feel free to join us at the library if you have an interest in this topic. In place of a regular meeting in April, our Club members will present a flower show on Saturday, April 17th, at the Eastport/Annapolis Neck Library from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The theme of the show will be “Story Hour” and there will be several classes in which the ladies can enter their designs. We have some very talented women and we hope you will come to see what they have created and if you agree with the judges’ opinions. Our Club would like to invite the children in our community, ages 5-8 and 9-12 to join us in a May basket contest. We are excited to see their handiwork for which they will receive ribbons. Please call Rose Capuco at 443-482-9241 by April 22nd for information and to register with name, age and address. If you have any questions, please call Jean Koehler at 410-268-0276. ----------------------------------- All are welcome to attend our meetings, even if you are not a Hillsmere resident. For the most part, we meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Eastport/Annapolis Neck Library at 12:30 pm. We have a social/refreshment time, a business meeting and then a program or presentation. FYI - In case of bad weather, we follow the Anne Arundel County school advisories. With a two hour delay, we will meet at our normal time of 12:30 pm, and when schools close early, we will not meet. The Hillsmere Garden Club meets the third Wednesday morning of the
month, September through April, 12:30pm at the Eastport/Annapolis Neck Library.
Meetings are open to the public and membership is open to all who are
interested. Dues are $15.00 a year.
Our activities center on education and community service.
Invited speakers talk on everything from Bayscaping to antique vases.
There are hands-on workshops and field trips.
Anyone interested in joining can print and complete the membership form below and
bring it to one of the meetings. Garden
