Community Work Day (from Kate Penn, Chair) - We kicked off our community work projects with a Community Work Day on Saturday, September 10, and it was a real success for our first project.  We did a lot of pruning and trimming around the beach area, refurbished the ladybug at the tot lot, and sanded and primed the metal on the large pavilion.  A big thanks to all our volunteers who helped out:  Matt Robbins, Sean and Amy Shanahan and their daughter Amy, Annette Horan, and Diana (sorry we missed your last name, and Noel has your trowel ‑ please give him a call), Noel Gasparin, and my daughter, Sabrina Penn.  Thanks also to Amy and Jim Cowart for lending us their generator (and supplying the gas, too!).  It was a beautiful day, and really rewarding to see such results from just a couple hours of work.  Please make time for our Spring Work Day, Saturday, April 15, from 9:00 am ‑ 1:00 pm.  Come for the whole morning or just an hour; bring the family ‑ we can keep even the little ones busy and having fun.  I plan to finish the work on the large pavilion, resurface the picnic tables, and, if there are enough people, we'll tackle the small one, too.  We will also do some landscaping, planting and more pruning.  And this time, we'll top off the day with a cookout.  So save the date!  [Top]
